Avalanche hopes Colin Wilson, J.T. Compher can play in Sweden against Ottawa

A pair of injured Colorado Avalanche forwards could return to the lineup Friday against the Ottawa Senators in Sweden, according to an NHL.com report.

Colin Wilson and J.T. Compher, who have missed the past six games, fully participated at practice Tuesday.

“I think Wilson is probably a guy that will be ready to go,” Avalanche coach Jared Bednar said to NHL.com. “It looks like Compher is progressing nicely and could be joining us.”

Compher is the Avs’ top choice to replace Matt Duchene as the No. 2 center, Bednar said. Duchene was traded Sunday to the Senators.

The Avs could also get forward Carl Soderberg back in the lineup. He didn’t travel with the team to Stockholm because his wife is expected to give birth — her due date is Tuesday. The Avs are not ruling him out, according to the report.
